Floating Protest rallies

And Outside Houses or Parliament 16th Jan although I would suprised if many could make it with the many stoppages that time of year.

So how did you find it Tony? Are you a closet NarrowBoater??

Came to me via an email forwarded by someone in my marina at Chertsey. Surpised havent seen it earlier especially as ATYC appear to be supporting. How long have you known?

interesting that for completely another reason ... Thames Water's plan for the upper thames reservoir involves dumping up to 500ml/day (500,000tonnes) into the river at Oxford and assumes that less than 3% will be lost through "bank leakage" by the time that water gets down to the london reservoirs where its pumped out. Loss through the river banks is at such a low level (10-20% is normal) because the thames is a managed river - mainly by defra - and if they stop doing so ...

Sure I mentioned it on the phone a few weeks ago Tony, mind you, with cold and yawning I doubt I was that intelligible:-)

NABO have been mentioning this in emails for a while now, but its an odd time of year.

I await the sudden emegency stoppages due to mechanical problems at Teddington, Brentford, Regent's Canal, Bow Creek etc 15/1/07.

Many a true word said in jest but it is SO TRUE it seems to be almost mandatry uniform for those in the long steel pointy things this is not a snipe just an observation

It would make more sense to hold any protest rallies after the locks re-open. At the moment, anyone above Chertsey is trapped. A poorly attended rally will make no impression and a second one will probably get less publicity.

OOOh im up for the Parliament one . Your not allowed to protest out the front but theres no law about doing it out the back is there ? Hmmmm The law was a mile from Parliament wasnt it ? Oh well , another night in the cells /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Maybe the will, this one is organised by Chris Coburn that well know user of Coastguard Resources, I only heard of it when someone rang me to see if I would go too. There's a few locally going that I know of.
