What’s with this Floating Pennywort ? according to an ecologist report if no action is taken soon Henley, Clooney ville, Wargrave etc will be Un navigable for Motor Boats in a years time ! Could be a slight problem for the Henley Regatta then !!!

I believe the EA removed a load last year.

I suspect it's going to be like 'Diesel bug' one of those things you hear about, and don't take enough preventative action until it's too late!

It's a perennial problem now so if seen, best to report to the EA and teams of staff will rush out and remove it, eventually. I doubt it's as bad as suggested by the professor last autumn and the high winter flows will have dislodged much of it in the main river. But it's a prolific beggar and can grow up to 6 to 8 inches a day in season from a small fragment.

Like all non-native species including the first wife, it's tricky to manage.

If you find any, take a cutting and chuck it over the side at Henley. By the time the Regatta and Rewind come around, you'll have something to moor against without being ripped off:D
