Just looking at flights to Preveza......WOW!!!!!!
I need to get over to Nidri to get the boat up for sale but cost is ridiculous.
Flying to corfu is nearly as bad by the time you add ferries and bus fares..

Any any other idea's.

Would love to drive back down in the camper but bit stuck for time.

Regards

Does anybody have to hand the current bus timetable from Igoumenitsa to Preveza, esp on a Sunday!?
I should have written it down when looking at Ionion notice board!

Thanks BlackSheep.
It's very tiresome that the Igou bus and even the Sky Express flight are too early for the EasyJet flight to Corfu!!
Sunday it must be, altho I am considering spending the night in Corfu. I'm sure somebody has rec a hotel nr the airport.....?

Overnight to Athens - Aegian air - arrive 4 am. go to bus station at about 5 20 on X93. Then take 1st Levkas bus - To find the ticket office - don't go into the main ticket office but cross the road and keep to the right inside the bus station. The little ticket office is on the right. Opens about 20 minutes before the bus leaves - get in the queue.

At Levkas bus station, there is a bus to Nidri which costs very little - they go every hour - sods law you will have just missed one. Times below - don't worry that its dates 1st July.

We flew East Mids to Corfu last week with RyanAir and there were some empty seats on the plane. This would cost you £58 going out next wednesday and £68 coming back two weeks later. Nobody weighed our carry-ons either but as we are out here for two and a half months we put one large bag in the hold at £35. The very good value Hotel Pyrros was €27 a night B&B + €3 for the bus (but owner Anton just might be persuaded to pick you up!) and the following day there is a plane at 12.10 to Aktion at €30. Unfortunately your UK arrival in Corfu is 15mins before the Aktion plane leaves, hence the need for a room. The Pyrros in close to Gouvia Marina so any last minute boat gear purchases are possible plus our extensive range of tavernas!

Is that expensive?

There seem to be two rather more expensive Easyjet flights from Gatwick to Corfu on Sats. I've just booked onto the late one on 1st june.
Walk to very nearby hotel for around around £46/night, then Sky Express on the Sun morning for £40.
Still comes to over £200 for the one way trip but convenient. This is the downside of keeping your boat at Aktion, but I heard Cleo alone say they had
800 boats!? now, so the total for three yards must be a thousand!!
Still I obtained a Monarch return flight in April/early May, and more surprisingly my wife and I obtained Monarch flights back in August last year.
Next few weeks seem unobtainable or prohibitively expensive. Maybe something to do with half term!

been looking at Ryanair, Manchester > Corfu. can get a return for around £225/£250. which is pretty good. I'm lucky i can get picked up from igoumenitsa weekdays. so not to bad. Just getting friends sorting out accomodation, which again ain't cheap. Booking a package deal is just extortion...cheapest was £350 each £700 for us both. Thomsons are looking at £650 each, £1300 for us both...i assume there will be add ons.
Prices over the last 4 years are going sky high...
Indeed gonna look at jumping in the van, i know ferry ain't cheap but when i'm there i'll get all our stuff back..
Take it easy guys, have a good summer

Having just done the return from Messalonghi by estate car to get our gear off I can confirm the trip cannot be in any way considered cheap. If I did it again would get cheap return flight from Athens and hire a car. Then get the man with a van type out fit to transport those items that were worth it back to the U.K. From doing the figures would have saved me a lot.

Yeh I know what you mean, It cost us £688 from Nidri to Manchester, 1st week in Feb. we got good deals on the ferries so can't complain.
Also we travel in a 7.5 metre campervan :-) very comfortable and we can make a holiday out of it at "no extra cost". Only civilized way to travel IMHO.

Roy
