Flexible water tanks

Good day all, I recently bought a Sadler 26 and as part of its renovation process I want to replace the flexible water tank originally supplied by Crewsaver. It is an oblong black tank holding around 10 gallons and comprises an inner and outer lining and there are two screw fit water in and water out holes side by side within about 200 mm of each other and each hole is around 50mm in diameter. Today I have spent hours on the internet trying to find similar and Plastimo and Vetus do a similar capacity one but it is square and at 700 mm sq. they will not fit in the space. Lalislas do another but equally that is square. Has anyone overcome this problem and if so how? Perhaps the only option is to have one purpose made and if anyone has gone along this route could I have contact details, thanks.

One of the best moves I ever made was to get shot of the flexible water tank on Sleighride! Get a bespoke stainless tank made by a reputable manufacturer and you'll never look back.

I read in a French magazine recently of a flexible tank you can get. Once it's in place you add a product which renders it solid in the form you have allowed it to assume.

We had one of the Plastimo tanks on Kindred Spirit; I bought an identical replacement for the rather grubby existing one. It worked ok, but the water always tasted a bit plasticky. Ariam's rigid tank tastes exactly the same (ie, no taste) as my kitchen tap at home.

Here is the info. The flexible tank is put into place (60, 100, or 150 litres) Once expanded to its max size, a simple UV lamp is placed inside for 2.5 hrs. This polymerizes the composite material of the outer wall rendering it rigid. It is sold with removeable inner envelopes which can be renewed annually for hygiene purposes.

Vetus used to offer those at one time. They are incredibly expensive - more expensive than a custom made Tek Tank for example - and really only worth considering if you have a small access hole to the space you want to use.

I had a plastimo tank burst once.I took a lot of mopping to dry the bilges out.Wouldn't recomend one.

The original tank on my Sadler 29 failed a few years ago; the lining started to break up and bits of it kept blocking the filter. I tried a Platimo tank and it lasted about one season then split. So I had a replacement made to measure by these people and it has been fine for about 7 or 8 years now:-
