Currently mine resides in a rather small under-bunk locker which seriously restricts the amount of water I can get in it (and also leaves it reluctant to drain completely).
To improve (slightly) the situation I can either:
a. move it to a slightly larger under-bunk locker, thus losing the use of a rather handy space to put kit; or
b. use the space originally intended, by designer/boatbuilder, for the tank. This would give roughly the same volume as the larger under-bunk locker, but the space is sentry-box shaped rather than coffin-shaped and I wonder if that might give problems? (it certainly did for the initial installation which didn't make best use of the tank provided. Not the best installation maybe). Also, I would need a made-to-measure tank which would cost a bit more.
There's plenty of space in the forepeak locker but it might give problems in restraining the tank from moving, in piercing a watertight bulkhead and in having so much weight forwards, so I'm a bit reluctant to go that way.
First Mate has commanded that we carry more water.
Any views/ideas?
