fitted Plastimo flexi bag water tanks, 150 ltr / 30 gl , one in each hull , just wondering what the accepted method is , do you just let them contact with the bare fibre glass hull or do you fit some thing between, eg , piece of carpet, piece of plywood , foam yoga mat ( ) or whatever , i guess having them direct contact may help keep the water cool but maybe there are some friction issues to be considered , the ones that i replaced had been in for many years , they were direct contact and did not show any signs of damage , all opinions welcome, t y R

I have 2, port & starboard and they just lie directly on the hull. I did consider carpet but think that it will just get damp and manky. I sanded and flow coated the hull where they lie to try and avoid abrasion but not sure it was necessary. I've had them for 19 years, had one split about 10 years ago but probably from over enthusiastic cleaning. A new liner was fairly cheap.

I used a piece of cheap "astro turf" - plastic grass from the hardware store. Cheap as chips as long as you don't buy the expensive stuff. Anything that stops it chafing, has air gaps and will not retain moisture will probably do. 2.95 euro per sq metre from Leroy merlin (B&Q lookalike) here in Portugal. Available in your local equivalent store wherever you are I would think.
