has anyone any views or experence on this make of boat, I wish to use on the Thames and costal waters of the SE, with the odd overnight trip to IOW, any comments would be welcome

Solid boat with good handling, but with a 'no frills' approach. I have used the sportsboat version a lot with no real problems.
Check that the plywood floor is OK, they can rot over time if not kept dry.
They seem to hold value well, good ones can cost more now than when they were new 20 years ago.

Great little sea boat for its size. Same hull as the Vigo I believe.

Fletcher used to make some great little boats back then. The 147 was tiny but went well with a 50hp outboard and again was way better in a sea than anything its size had any right to be.

And I used to love their Zingaro range.

The ZS Bravo was a cracker too, proper little powerboat and went very well with the usual 5.7 litre 260hp Mercruiser.

Good boats, shame they got swamped by cheap mass produced American imports.

Echo what others say, great boats. I had a Fletch 19 cuddy for 8 years.

The only other comment I'd make is, it's probably not ideal for Thames. Would need a smaller engine, maybe up to 10hp, Also steering at low speed can be tiring. It will wander from side to side, characteristic of deep V hull.

Good, seakindly hull for it's length. A bit tippy while static or at slow speeds.

Will tackle a bit of a chop reasonably, if crew have something to hang on to.

Great day boat or weekender if you are 'close'.

A 2 stroke engine that is big enough for fun and skiing on the sea will be a bit of a problem on the locked sections of the Thames.

Hi; welcome to the forum.
I concur with all previous posts.
I may be wrong, and I don't know much Fletcher history, but we know someone with a (1992, I think) Fletcher 18 Sports Cruiser (115hp Mercury and a 4hp aux). Was the Faro a predecessor of the 18 SC?
Anyway, the 18 SC we know, is a great wee boat for her type - solid, heavy, 'no-frills', a good seaboat relatively, considering...
Like most boats of this type, boat-wise, the most important considerations I guess would be the condition of the trailer, and of the outboard...
Best wishes
