I once heard that all fletchers were built with a 21 deg dead rise as Norman held an almost religious belief that this was the perfect angle. Considering a 19GTO for for use in the choppy Anglesey waters tempered with a yearning for something classic or future classic. Now boatless for the first time in my life so need to sort something out for spring.
Happy Christmas all.

Not familiar with Fletcher design, my Levi Corsair is an original proper deep vee and is 26 deg. I think it is more complicated than just the angle, the shape forward and the angle of attack planning I suspect also matter. As far as I am aware Fletcher boats have a good reputation for seakeeping.

They do indeed have a very good reputation for seakeeping I have a few of them. At last count I have:

1) Fletcher 19 gts Sports Cruiser 3 ltr Inboard (Currently tentatively for sale)
2) 1 No Arrowhawk 19 GTO Bowrider
3) 2 No Arrowstreak 17 GTO Bowriders
4) 2 No 16 Foot Clasics

If you see a fletcher they should be saved in my opinion

The dead rises certainly vary amongst the range.

do you mean the fletcher sports cruiser 19 GTO or like the fletcher 19 GTO open boat ?

I currently have a SC 19 GTO from 2002, with an incredible new mercury mariner 115 command thrust outboard. I can’t tell you how good a set up it is. Extremely capable for a 19ft hull. Very deep v for its class. Means it’s extremely good in a chop and never takes a wave with a crash, within reason. But, being critical of it, if I must...with the hood up...it’s a total pain in the arse to get into. The standard hood set up is nothing short of terrible. I’m replacing mine ASAP.
the only other thing might be as a consequence of its deep v narrow hull...it’s quite easily unsettled by anyone moving around within her. Or by a side on wash or wave. Nothing like dangerous...just a little tippy perhaps if you are used to a wider, shallower American hull or a larger hull in general. Your old searay would be much wider and flatter at the hull....but nothing like as good a hull for the U.K. waters, despite being a larger boat. All in all, a typical fletcher. Very capable, very fast with moderate power.

thanks everyone. Faux pas in first post , it’s a19GTS I’m after. Don’t seem to be able to get this new site to work yet , this is the fifth attempt
