Hi all, when I upgraded the stereo and speakers last week, upon removing the existing speaker located behind the helm seat (under the throttle) I disconnected the wire forum the old speaker, and the remaining wire fell back into the hole.

With my arm in the hole, like James Herriott up a cows nether regions, I rummaged around to find the wire, but also came across about ½ an inch of water in the hole. It isn't a locker as it seems to be sealed and I'm guessing it's been there a while as there was an old comb, and a safety pin down there?! Maybe it's just rain/ splash water that's found a way in and there's no way to get it out?

Therere is no other access that I can see.

Anyone found something similar before?

These can be prone to leaks over time in at least a couple areas. Behind the rubbing strake where the two hull moldings meet, the strake was screwed through into a wooden batton behind, and water gets in. Screw holes can be re-sealed, but don't remove all at once or the batton will drop off behind! (very difficult access to put back without taking the boat apart!) The opening section in the middle of the screen can allow water in too and this can track around the console and could perhaps be tracking down beside helm. Sheppy, if he's still active on here had one of these and may have more suggestions. I think there are a few areas under the floor that have potential to trap water, but not easily accessible.

It's the sportscruiser
Ok. The water should eventually find its way back to the bilge, when under way or in its natural state. Can get trapped on a trailer or with an uneven list or trim though. The post above is definitely spot on too. Known to let water in at the upper and lower interfaces behind the rubbing bumper trim…and windshield centre section too. Can run in behind dash or at the trim panel the throttle is attached to. Or near the sliding door trackway. Behind the rear seats and via the wooden hatch under each side too. The cockpit floor sealant area all around there too. Hugely not helped any, if you still have the original and horrendously bad effort at a canopy, they came with new.

That could be it - if water was running around the edge of the console, that's where it would end up. As I say, not a huge amount, I can probably clear it with a sponge and a bucket. Might do that, then monitor....

@QBhoy, actually does have a canopy but not sure if it's the original. we've never managed to get it up!

Had plans to do it while we were over there last week, but on the only dry day with wind below 25mph, we discovered there are a few of the hex grub screws missing that hold the cover poles in place! I've ordered some new ones ready for our next trip over in 3 weeks time. Can't believe that out of 9 days in Wales we got TWO days good enough to go boating. Love this country.......

Yeah I found pretty much every locker that was supposed to drain into the bilge, was plugged with crap. I used a bit of wire and wiggled it through each drain hole and it soon cleared.

Seems to me that Fletcher made the drain holes too small.
