We reviewed the fleet with a few hundred other yachts today. It was noticeable that there were very few motorboats (different Jobs?). It was very impressive although spoilt by the ships being so far away. I don't understand the policy of putting half of the square riggers in the middle where binoculars are required to see them.
The radio traffic on channel 11 was continuous and often difficult to pick up.
We were about to cross the main channel between a line of ships stretching miles out to sea, just as one would cross a channel shipping lane, when stopped by the police/security launch. He just yelled stop! Another yacht a few minutes later tried to cross in front of Leander. Leander blew her horn 5 times. He hesitated and then made a dash for it. We then heard on 11. Arrest that boat!! Shortly after he was having discussions with a number of official boats.
