Flavel Vanessa - grill burner required

Hi there

I have a Flavel Vanessa cooker that the grill burner has failed on and I am after another burner. Not available new unfortunately: I've tried the supplier recommended by many on the forums. Planning on replacing the whole unit next year but would like to have a grill if possible. Anyone have one kicking round their garage?

Have you tried stripping it down?
The grill is just a jet at the back that feeds a 'container' that has holes along each side (for the flames to come out and heat the grill plate).
The probability is that these holes are blocked with rust / crud.
The 'container' is only held in with a screw (maybe two) at the front.
Take it out and clean / open up the holes.

I've done this on two boats that had Flavel Vanessa's fitted.

It's rather amusing that you can still get top burner rings for the Vanessa ....but apparently can't get grill burners.

Whereas, for old Plastimo cookers you can readily get replacement grill burners.....but no chance whatsoever when it comes to top burners

Are you able to make a new bracket and screw it to the 'burner'?
