Flavel b700 cooker knobs

I need to get the front plate off this old gas cooker but can't work out how to remove the four control knobs. There are no visible grub screws and I've tried simply pulling them off using a fair amount of force but they won't come. Any suggestions?

If the knobs haven't been removed before I suspect that they have become stuck on with grease, etc. I have never known a cooker with knobs held on by grub screws but I have a feeling that others may correct this. The other 'option' is that they are held on with nuts under a cover plate on the front of the knob.

Thanks but there don't seem to be any nuts under the metal trims on the front of the knobs so it looks as though I need to pull harder!

I agree. They are stuck with gunge/rust/etc. Give them a good spray with your favorite potion and try pulling them off again. The next day!
