Flares and Fireworks What's The Law?

Re: Flares and Fireworks What\'s The Law?

did the rya sea survival course. it included a flare demo & we were invited to bring our olf flares (hand-held only). there were enough for us all to let off at least 4 different makes.

new legislation

i'm told it is now illegal for anyone under 18 to have fireworks in a public place. wonder if that includes flares.

next time you get grief from a bunch of teenage racers, frisk them for flares & get them all put in the chokey.

Re: Berkshire Special?

I've got about 25 to 30 MK.7 reds due to expire 12/2004 and maybe the same of Pinpoint Orange Smokes. I was thinking a demo in the field behind our house, but I wouln't want to tax my legal status or my insurance so I haven't done anything about it.

With the right Police approval and a blood chit from attendees I'd be up for it.

Re: Berkshire Special?

John, what we were talking about is a properly sanctioned demo by RNLI at Fawley activity centre or similar area, with approval from Coastguard, at the next big Forum meet at Mercury (possibly) in May next year

Some Plonker!!!

Only let off a red or should I say pink para last night in the Luton area of Chatham. With all the other fireworks going off (and there were loads) you could tell this was a distress flare without any probs.

Gezzs some people never cease to amaze me...... PLONKERS!!!!!!

Re: Git

Hum. You are correct about the law, but in saying you'd actualy be pleased to see some one prosecuted - a bit strong, no? Much better that midguided ninnies were explained the errors of their ways - as in this thread praps? The tiny no of prosecutions will/has hardly deterred what *seems* harmless, at face value, no?

Re: Berkshire Special?

Well this was a thread hijack for Berkshire residents.

Properly sanctioned by all means, but if I understand it correctly it could only be done on a properly sancioned basis using in date flares, and my flares will only be in date for another 7 weeks.
