took a weeeeee of the side of his boat, right next to me at Lymingotn Yacht haven.

Now correct me if I am wrong but thats just plain bad!

Yes I did challenge him - his answer was basically F-off!

I am going to take a picture of his boat in the morning and post it if you all think that I should?????

Not sure which is worse, peeing over the side in a marina or responding with a f###k off when challenged. General lack of respect for others, something which seems to becoming more common.

Him being a raggie probably isn't particularly relevant though....

He's just cutting out the middle man - my folks owned yachts for 20 years, last one was just under 40ft and bought new so not exactly tat and not one was fitted with a holding tank.

So really, it's going in the marina anyway. He just saved you the noise of the manually pumping toilet. Neeah-urgh, neeah-urgh, neeah-urgh...

how distastful

as said, the fact he is a raggie has not much to do with it. The fact he is pretty disgusting is more to the point... glade my 8yr old daughter didn't witness that.... or perhaps that is what he was hoping?

Being a raggy may have some relevance...few small sailing boats have toilet facilities and he may have always done it that way. Can't image the amount of urine in the yacht harbour was discernable and will be flushed with each tide. The OP would probably freak out if he saw an angler taking a leak in Rutland Water....after all he could end up drinking the stuff later.
On the other hand if he could see what the ducks and geese contribute to the potable water supply he would never touch the stuff again.
So if we accept there might be a little over-reaction in the matter of the pee what about the lanquage?
When accosted at such a moment the villan has two choices....he can react with verbal aggression...attack being the best form of defence or he can apologise. The latter course takes longer, is more humiliating and gives the OP time to get up a righteous head of steam as he berates the guilty party.
It seems harsh and unfair but I think the culprit probably gave the correct reponse to bring the embarassing matter to a swift conclusion.

This is a very British take, on what is only a normal bodily function, OK he was taking a leak over the side, was he exposing himself to you or other rude gesturing? go on the continent the Europeans in the main, do not make a song and dance about taking a leak.
and what's taking a photo of his boat and posting it here going to achieve?

Did he walk out and do it in front of you or did you have to make an effort to look?

Sorry guys but there is some absolute tosh being posted here IMHO. Established norms of our society (european attutudes arent really relevant) don't encourage openly p****ng in the street/marina/garden - it might end up in the marina but there are ways of getting it there. Similarly, responding to someone with a swift f**k off isn't what you might call civilised conduct. Call me old fashioned but I think the are some standards we should seek to preserve and consideration for our neighbours/fellow boaters is one of them.

Sorry folks but I cant help but laugh at this thread. What a bunch of prudes.
For sure this geezer did not intend to offend anyone & certainly not flash at some little girl as someone suggested was his possible intention.

Who on here can say hand on heart that they have never has a slash over the side ??

I often do, but make sure that no one is in sight before doing so. Saves pumping the heads & waking wifey. I have little doubt, looking at the timing of the OP post (after dark), that our raggie friend was doing likewise. The OP it would seem just happened to stick his nose on deck at the same time & choose to make a fuss because it offended his take on decency.

I hate the term they use today ''get a life'' but it would seem to apply to this situation.

If you have a boat with no facilities then as said, a little pee in the water is not going to cause much harm. However, if you are going to do this then I think it only fair to be discreet, many I believe use a bucket. As far as the language goes, you do not tel someone in the marina to F off. If he had said that to me the situation may have escalated somewhat, if he said it to my eldest son he would almost definitely have joined his pee !

Fair comment me old rubberduck but look at what the OP said:

Yes I did challenge him - his answer was basically F-off!

He didnt from what has been said by the OP actually say foxtrot oscar.

Like you if someone had said same to me he would have taken a float test, but
that seems not the case. I am of the opinion that the OP is a bit of a prude, nancy boy.
Has a bit of a problem with wee wee's & nasty poo poohs.

No need to empty your bowels over the side at Lymington.
there's ample toilet facilities, in fact three separate
loo's all within a short walk.
This culprit has been dragged up rather than
brought up and has no manners. Perfectly ok to do this at sea but not in
marina.
Anyone who thinks you can just p..ss over the
side in a Marina has the same problem.

FWIW - I was stood next to my boat, running a power cable along it right next to a big light. I didnt just peep my head out in order to have a moan.

Oh, and the quy in question was on a 40ish foot yacht which I am assuming would have a perfectly good loo inside and if not the marina facilities are approximatly a 60 second stroll away.

Sandyman, for fear of being pee'd on, please remind me never to tie up next to you in a marina!
