I'm gettting comfy with a beer, this could be good un.
Dear Oh Dear,Have I ruffled the feathers of the 20,294 posts man ?
A little about me to calm your nerves, age 69, started sailing in 1972 (rag & stick) from Blundellsands sailing club on Merseyside, wooden boats in those days, Wore a navy blue suit with shiny buttons and stripes and was Guard Commander at several Cenotaph services so know all about that. I belong to the Royal Naval Sailing Association and was a member of the Royal Ocean Racing Club until moving to Cornwall 20 years ago, Lifeboat crew for 11 years until I had to retire through age,I hold RYA Coastal and Yachtmaster Offshore certificates and VHF etc. and in retirement I joined the National Coastwatch Institution and am stationed at Bass Point on the Lizard, give me a wave next time you pass. I own a 33 foot twinscrew power boat which lives in Mylor Yacht Harbour near Falmouth, and cruise quite a bit.
Hope this is enough for you and will go some way to alleviate the stress you must feel when anyone disagrees with you,

I doubt it Phil. But I have this theory that when he was parading at the Cenotaph he couldn't resist bawling out one or two civvies for his perceived transgression of the 'rules'.

Bugger you started late Twinscrew, I'm YOUNGER than the major and I started in 1967, been commodore of a yacht club and never flown the balls, like Major I think it's all tosh!
Sit back to receive flak from Philiz and Co and dont do it to quickly I'm still typing with one hand

Look good on the RIB.
Steady on chaps! This guy is only a noob and maybe you should cut him some slack.
I'm late to the party here, but from what I've just read all he did was echo his agreement of something that VicS had already said. Why vilify this guy when no comment seems to have been passed on Vic's original thoughts?
It all seems a tad unseemly, ganging up on him in this way, especially as the guy is a noob and we need to encourage rather than discourage them, or the forums will die. Or we'll get HLB posting about how boring it has all become again - who knows if this guy has all the experience he says he has, then he may have something interesting to post.
If he is happy to barge in without prior interaction then he gets all he deserves. I never had a chance to tackle VicSbefore Twinscrew decided to opine.
What comes across as unseemly is the way that the rest of the N Wales massif have closed ranks behind you and are making all sorts of personal attacks on the guy when they can't possibly know very much about him from the few posts he has made. Given that he is only a noob that doesn't seem right or proper.

was it like me @ Skeggie @ about that time
Major, if you have taken exception to something that the guy has said, and you wish to retort then all well and good - its between you and him. It would be fine to keep it that way.
