It seems Louise has time to update Facebook so I'll grab a minute in here :o

Well for a start and on the good news side, we have a chef starting next Monday, with the ability to turn out exactly what we want and then some. Never heard of venison with a dark chocolate sauce but it works for me

To enter the kitchen you no longer need a radiation badge as all the microwave ovens have been booted out, along with all but one small freezer. Sorry, but never could understand why a good restaurant needed so many freezers, all fresh here so they're gone

Kitchen has now been completely tiled, so at least now we can clean down properly, and the servery is going to have the last wall plastered this week. Just got to put the floor down and job's a goodun

No answer yet from the council about the alterations we need to make it work, but as it's the only way we can make the place suitable for disabled people, I do hope they aren't going to delay too much longer ;)

Now, a very very big thank you to Neil, and hopefully Duncan, as 5th November 2010 will be a very big night indeed. Not only is it the village firework night when we are traditionally busy, but we will also be the venue for a potential double group booking as Men In Spex and Blue Bark outshine the local MP on our formal opening night

Still unable to do food yet, although the few regulars have been treated to a top grade burger or two in the meantime ;)
We don't do food as such just yet, but where there is a way

Expecting the 5th November to be a big night so if anyone is intending to come here they would be well advised to arrive early
If anyone wants to make it a YBW ECF meeting, let me know and I'll make sure the big YBW burgee is flying as high as I can get it

Now we just have to survive a little longer, and we have the potential to become one of the best in East Anglia

Neil, thanks again for making this all possible, and if you could amend the location on Reverb to show 'Hessett' as the location people won't go into Bury :D

Catch up when I can but these days it's all chop chop busy busy work work bang bang :o

We would love to come and I am working on the opportunity. I said I would try to organise an ECF do, but unfortunately I have had too many other dramas to deal with over the past couple of months

We may try to make it up there for Guy Fawkes Night - is there still an offer of camping?

It's gonna be brill! No need for organisation, just get as many ECF-ers in as possible and it will all be fine!

Lil is going to do a special Sneek Peek fashion show preview, modelling her new range of designer anti-drysuits for Spring 2011.

Dave , just get loads of bangers and mash on and make sure there's plenty of beer!

Can't wait! :D

Plenty of bangers and mash, mushy peas and any other traditional bonfire night food we can think of will be the order of the day

Anyone wanting to camp overnight is also welcome, plenty of room for those that get in quick :)

ooooh, we're building enthusiasm here... one last thing... is there a toilet to use if we're camping?

The toilet facilities of the pub will be available all the time, no problem there

Tasting session on the go here at the moment

These puddings shouldn't work but by eck, Sambuca ice cream is going down well  though not as well as the Glenkinchie is :o

Hic :D

Just to update everyone.....
It is now confirmed that both Men in Spex (including Niel) and Blue Bark (including me) will be appearing at the Five Bells official (re)launch night on Friday 5th November 2010.
Sounds like a very unique occasion - a venue run by forumites putting on a event featuring two bands both featuring forumites.
I Make that "ECF o'clock" :D :p
So, all you forumites, set your GPS/Sat nav for The Street, Hessett for a night of bangs, bangers and bands!!!
Look forward to seeing you all there.

I thought it said Men in Spandex. I thought I was going to hear a tribute Village People or Borat at the very least.
I must register my disgruntlement at not feeding my fetish.

We'll probably be kicking off the music at 9, so that will be perfect

Can save you some bangers if you want ;)

And you'd better bring the spandex version of your anti-drysuit otherwise Jim will be all forlorn...

It sounds like it has the potential to be a brilliant evening, so I'm bitterly dissappointed not to be able to come. Especially if Lisa is wearing her lycra anti dry suit! :D
