Balkern Gate that we had the last meeting in, has accomodation, and it is in the middle of the East coast, although not able to sail to
Ummmm, call me weird (people often do

How many people will want/can to sail to this event? I doubt very many, especially if the weather is not good. I am sure you will now say these people can go by road, and that is true, but if is inaccessible by road, not many people will comeUmmmm, call me weird (people often do) but there's just something intrinsically odd to me about having a meet up of boating types somewhere boats can't get!
You can do it - it was a long time ago.....let the trauma go.Gaah! Foxes!
OK. Perhaps enough time has passed. ...

If I'm on Laurin with no Gregorys then you can bunk up with us....Preferably somewhere with accommodation within walking distance (because I'm not optimistic about the prospects of getting Pagan back in the water this coming year)
Burnham and Fambridge have train stations! ?Now you are making it hard work ... Sail and public transport does very much limit the options ... Ramsgate Dover or Ipswich Lowestoft???
"inaccessible" was a bad word, I should have said "difficult access". I am thinking of people coming from the extreme ends of the East Coast, after driving long distance, finally having drive a long distance on minor roadsWhich marinas are inaccessible by road David ?

I think you are right. In principal what I was saying was correct, but I think I got it a bit out of proportionThe A14 isn't exactly minor, that's why i suggested Ipswich. Easy access by sea, road or rail. Plenty of pubs, restaurants and hotels. It's only 20 mins from Colchester by road and a relatively short sail for most of the East coast.
Not my decision though, just a suggestion, i'll consider whatever gets decided on.
should I put up a poll ?
Exactly.No!
Canvas views and opinions by all means but then make an executive decision and get on with it!
Besides, if no one sails there, no one will entertain us by falling in! (No names, no pack drill!)
Do I still hold the trophy for falling in? ?Besides #2 i still have the trophy for the most stupid ... I'm sorry, meritorious ... voyage to an ECF event
