Fitting up supper accommodation

Hi All,

I've just managed to book one of the Croucy Yacht Club cabins for the grand sum of £20 for the evening of the fitting up supper. They are pretty basic but they do have some more if anybody wants a cheap bed for the night.

I visited CYC yesterday for a recce and they told me about the cabins which aren't used much nowadays when many yachts are in the marina rather than on swingers. There is discussion about redevelopment.

Spoke with Tony about it.... I asked how many boats we needed to make it club rate and he said "doesn't matter as long as they say they're with you!". Will clarify rate with HM tomorrow when we are up there... my planned visit last Thurs didn't happen.

Possibly due to them not being well known of it seems, must admit it's the first time I've heard about them and I can't find any information about them on the CYC site, have I lost the plot and just can't see the obvious ?

I suspect they used to be a member privilege.

You're probably right but it might help to keep them in use if they allowed non members to use them, it's one reason I can't make the fitting up supper, and I'm also planning an all day visit to Maldon so it would be handy to find somewhere closer to overnight rather than having to set off at the crack of dawn, without having to pay a fortune for a B&B when I only need the B
