This is creepy.
I went looking for the original post this afternoon as I was starting to sort the family calender for next year and realised that the 4th was Easter Saturday and I will be expected to be with the family.
I found it and was relived to find the date is the 10th.

The current intention is to relaunch Karouse on Easter Monday then use the sail up to Harwich as a shakedown to check out all the stuff I am doing over the winter. If I leave B'sea at HW and keep sight of land on my left I guess I'll be OK regardless what the new instruments read!

Having had the bow repaired from all the previous owners crunches, I must get a bow fender sorted!

On a point of order, isn't it a fitting out? 'Fitting up' has an unfortuante modern meaning!!!

Ah, Roger, 'tis all my fault and invention.

The Fitting Up Supper is as deliberate as the Laying Down Supper.

It was supposed to be a clever play on words originally. Also to avoid the stigma of clubbism which so many here like to avoid.

the one @ foxs was called "the fitting up supper" as that is exactly what it was. we were all "Fitted-up" poor food @ high prices.
much as we were in spain Christmas Day €65 each for ding food including very poor service by the so called chief his wife & mother in law.
from 21 punters i reckon the 3 of then made €1300 after costs, over lunch time

You should have employed me to negotiate the bill. I think I totally emotionally destroyed the Manager at Swallowtail back in October.

Is there any bright light on your horizon Rog?

My Sons "in laws" booked it, the place is 1/2 a mile from where they live ( in the middle of know where ) so i wasnt able to comment without upsetting them ( they thought it very good  ).
On a Brighter note Jim the shortest day has passed, weather **** ( spoke with sons F-i-L yesterday he was in shorts & t shirt  )berthing fees to be paid today , Roll on nxt season :D

We paid the equivalent of £42 each for our (7 course) Xmas day dinner at the Vox Restaurant attached to the Hilton in Reykjavic. That's about the same price as the local Beefeater was charging.
Then again, if we had opted for the drinks with the meal, the 4 or 5 glasses of wine would have been an additional £40!
