Good Morning,
I have replaced my md5a single cylinder Volvo with a reconditioned motor and noticed the original control lever sticking. Purchased a multiflex side mounting control lever 12 months ago and when I’ve came round to installation I’m struggling to get my head round the cable attachment to the control lever.
It comes with a red and black plastic fitting to capture my cables and attaches through circlips onto the rear of the control lever. The control lever has three parts for attachment, left, centre and right. Silly question but where does my gear shift cable attach and where does my throttle cable attach. Three attachment points and only two cables.
My throttle cable doesn’t have the travel to attach to the centre which would seem like the correct point in my logic and the shift cable attaches to the left hand side.
I will attach pictures to my thread later this afternoon. Hope this thread isn’t to confusing. Lying in a locker scratching my head yesterday wishing I’d got somebody out to do this apparently easy job.
Cheers,
Willy
