Am bringing VHF aerial, wind speed, considering bringing anchor light and perhaps other stuff to the strut I have mounted the radar on.

All wires go down inside strut (no clanking in mast, no taking down when winter lay-up arrives) wire lengths go from 16 metres if at top of mast down to 5 metres.

Wires inside strut (only visible at top where they enter strut) through hole drilled into stern - simple!

Arguments - radar - still see everything up to 16 miles - easy viewing on yacht and small craft at 6 miles distant - in other words no problems.

VHF - fishing boats VHF are no higher - they work well.

Wind speed - need to think but will try it anyway for a season.

Everything up the mast is a bit unecessary apart from steaming light.

Only need short ladder to change bulbs, cups on wind speed etc etc or do the dangerous and stand on pushpit.

Bit advanced - but all works wind speed - bit unsure on this - but will research and see if difference is minimal to correct 10 metre computation.
