A friend of mine is interested in fitting heating to his Targa 30. Can anyone who has one please advise where the heater unit is installed and where the heater outlets are positioned please? An idea of the route taken would also be very useful.

Can this be done as a DIY job, or is it best to get experts in? Any idea how much for a 2 outlet (deck and cabin) supply and fit?

Obviously my own boat has heating installed! Other views, though are most welcome to assist my friend!

thanks

Hi Every boat is different, last year I did and old style targa 35 and it was easy, nearly did the job in a day fitted outlets to cockpit, saloon, aft cab, forward cab, and toilet, it was a 5kw webasto and it works a treat.

The unit went in the stb quater at the back of the fridge, just removed the panel and it fitted behind just above the engine vent, the ducting went into the aft cabin through the lower vanity unit, into the dinette and through to the forward cab under the offside bed, easy. Worst bit was drilling the boat itself even with a new holesaw, there built very well.

Control went next to main panel.

I would just spend time to survey T30 and work out what needs to go where before chopping any holes.

Im just in process of fitting full system to a Phantom 40 old style model 1997 year, it looks fairly straightforward as it has a huge void area under the galley floor to get ducting to toilets and cabins, again worst bit wil be fuel supply and cutting holes.

Will report more later.
