Fitting an inboard engine to a Seagull 18\'6\" sloop

Has anyone any knowledge or experience of an inboard engine as fitted to a Bell Seagull sloop or indeed has experience of fitting one?
Any replies gratefully answered!

Hi there,

Probably not worth your while to attempt this as it is usually more trouble than it is worth. I own a Seagull which does not have an inboard fitted but I am aware of other Seagull owners who have removed them from their boats /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I do however have some pictures of a boat with an inboard installed if they are of any use?

By the way are you aware of the website www.seagullmew.org? You may find that Edwin Dewhirst may be able to offer some advice if you contact him - you will find his email address on the site. Also there is an interesting Wikipedia article on the Seagull/Seamew at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_Seagull_and_Seamew and another about the designer Ian Proctor. The www.seagullmew.org site is probably your best bet though in terms of finding useful advice from owners.

Best of luck,

Niall
