Fitting a normal size toilet bowl in a cruising yacht?

I'd guess the sitters outnumber the standers at sea. Standing when a girt great mobo goes past at 40 knots could be a messy business :)

You should try being a 6'4", solidly built bloke in my heads. Wedged is the word. Movement - save in one highly biological sense - is impossible.

South China Sea style!

Found on the occasional British yacht too :)

I had a normal toilet and used a whale gusher as a discharge pump and a whale 8 as an inlet worked ok much better than the lavac I have now and the bow of the Portal potti

Apart from the use in marina issue.. ( What is that person doing??OMG!!) Quite a few areas would hit you for a hefty fine. Over in the US of A 'dumping' in any local waters will make your wallet weep.

They have a conventional loo and holding tank on board as well, but in mid ocean the "long drop" seems simpler and more pleasant so why not?

For what it's worth, I don't think the Mollymawks spend much time in marinas :)

Wansworth, thanks that just the info I was looking for, (all the other posts are entertaining as well..)

An extra question if I may.

Jabsco joker valves are known for being unable to hold back the contents of holding tanks from flowing the wrong way, back into the toilet, if the level in the tank is much higher than the joker.
Would you say that the Whale Gusher outlet valves would be able to stop backflow, with, say, 2 or 3 feet of head?
(assuming no wetwipes or jam-rags etc go through them)

I have seen it said that "The human race divides equally into those who wipe while sitting and those who wipe while standing. Until told about them, neither group has any idea about the existence of the other."

Don't get me started on the difference between folders and scrunchers...
