Recently acquired a Beneteau 473 and wish to upgrade the anchor from the original Brittany type fitted to a NG anchor. Really would like to her from anyone who has experience of how any of them fit on the bow roller. The anchors I am considering are Rocna, Spade, Manson all about the 25kg size I expect. Possibly consider the Kobra 2 as well although not sure about the shank as I don't think it is high tensile.

Definitely not trying to start a "what's the best type of anchor thread" as I think all of the above will do the job. Boat is currently in the Netherlands till about April so not possible for me to experiment with any anchors from other peoples boats.

Thank you in advance if I am lucky enough to find someone who can help.

I fitted a 20 Kg Manson Supreme to my Beneteau 393 with no problem. The only thing to watch will be that the shank will not hit the windless. I think most of the manufacturers sites give pretty good diagrams with dimensions. I would have thought with a 473 you would not have any problem.

Thanks for the replies so far and especially the link to the Yahoo group. Have just signed up so hopefully might get a response there as well. Good to here that the Manson and Rocna fit ok on the other models but even better if someone with a 473 has done the same. Thanks.
