fitting a holding tank

Yep, will be fine,

Yes taking another look at the toilet photo it is a freshwater flush type, sorry my mistake. Always good advice from Jabsco shop.
The seawater type looks very similar but a slightly longer pump with an extra impeller fitted to bring in seawater.

No worries mate, at least i know i have a system that is easier to fit a holding tank to.
Just going to get a service kit and replace that. then clean the solenoid diaphragm.

One thing that slightly annoyed me was Jabsco do a lot of service kits, ( which is great) but don't do a replacement diaphragm for the solenoid if it splits or holes.
You can only clean it from time to time but if that goes you have to buy a complete unit even though you can get it out easily!
So for a £2 plastic part that is not available as a replacement part you end up paying £120 for thee whole unit which is bad in my opinion.
Hopefully mine will be good after inspection and a clean.

Be careful when retightening the screws, they strip quite easily.

Inland waterways in Ireland (Erne Shannon system) have a £1000 fine if a boat has no holding tank, if there is one with a valve for dumping into the water it must be made redundant so you cannot use, so no point putting one in.

Many authorities around the world allow a lockable two way valve to the overboard. Check locally as this gets you the best of both worlds.
