It has just occured to me that I have not soaked in a bath for at least 6 weeks while on holiday, only had showers. Now I feel like a good soaking in a jacuzzi, I have one at home but thought one fitted in the dtern cabin would be pretty cool with some nice lighting, candles, fresh flowers and music. So has anyone fitted one? I guess I would need to pump the water out due to height and find a 12v jacuzzi jet system, or use an invertor.

Any 'sensible' ideas or experiences appreciated.

Thank you so much but I think that would sink my boat! I only need a bath for one with jacuzzi jets fitted if possible.

I do think I need a bigger boat asap, this one is full already! I saw a lovely 20M Princess in Sovereign harbour, that would do :-)

Dangle over stern tied on with strong rope, whilst still in berth. Get SWMBO to go slow ahead both while you enjoy an envigorating soak.

Now, please stop posting questions with easy and obvious answers, as I have work to do to be able to afford to buy the Larsen I am going to view at SIBS.

There was a prout sailing cat that had a jucuzzi in one of the cabins, and I have heard of a cat with a hot tub, but the power requirements would be massive, and it wouldnt be very peaceful lying back in the hot tub, with a generator thudding away.

C,mon Major, GC1 asked for sensible replies.

On a serious note - there is a chap completing a steel motor boat to his own design in Watchet harbour (bristol channel). He has fitted a full size triangular bath. If you want a contact - pm. me and I will make a bit of effort to find the contact.

I knew an old TSDY that had a bath fitted, made from what looked like zinc lined ply. About 5' x 20" wide x 18" deep and very awkward (I imagined) to use as it was half tucked under the side deck. Lovely old Honduras mahogany fitments with little lipped compartments for the soap, loofah, bunion chisels, rubber duck etc. but no hot tap - presume the owner either liked cold baths or spent a lot of time boiling multiple kettles. No jacuzzi jets but I suppose you could make your own bubbles ....

I think Kim mentioned that his new (old) boat has a hip bath?

My old man once had a pre-war gentleman's motor yacht, rather like a Silver, that had a bath on it, but she was a 55 footer - anything much smaller and you'd struggle to fit it in imho. In fact, we never used the bath because - even with a 400 gallon tank - it used up far too much water, and the Ascot heater guzzled gas warming it up.

I'd try jumping over the side and f*rting, if I were you.

We've got a bath on-board, installed by the builder, not me. Normal domestic type, not jacuzzi. Nice to use occasionally but boy, does it use some hot water!

Yes we had a bath on our Corniche. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

My daughter loved it . /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Buy the largest kids blow up paddling pool that will fit your cockpit, inflate and fill with hot water.

Just had a further thought.

As well as owning a boat with a bath, in the '80s my old man was involved in overseeing the construction of this baby:

Much time and hilarity was spent dealing with the installation of the jacuzzi, which was made of glass and visible from below /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif. I never worked out why this should be, but she was being built for someone who'd made a fortune selling carpets, so perhaps he'd got tired of covering things up all the time.

She seems to be on the market at the moment - for US$8.5 million - so perhaps you should skip the 40 footer upgrade? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Get a raggie. Close off the cockpit seacocks and fill it up. Bubbles supplied by the baked bean and Guiness diet.
