Fitted up supper - 11th April, Bradwell Quay Sailing Club

Thanks for another great night at a lovely venue. Perfect for the kids which meant Mum and Dad had a stress free night! (Patrick also appreciated the kids "chill out area")
 
Apologies for absence, and thanks to whoever stepped into the breach as substitute servers of 'mains'.

We were on our way to Bradwell, in Jos's car, roof down, enjoying the afternoon sun, when my Mum rang. To cut a long story short, we ended up following an ambulance to A and E at Broomfield, where we stayed until 0100 this morning (my 86 yo Dad, himself a keen East coast sailor in his day, had collapsed at their house... he's a bit dizzy and wobbly today, but he's doing ok).

We're both really disappointed to have missed it. I'd got my limmericks ready, and had been pushing Jos hard in training for the bowline challenge (she was all prepared for a serious PB attempt).

Anyway...sounds like a great 'do'.

Hope to catch up with people on the water soon.

Sorry I missed you this morning, took the decision to make an early bolt for the Medway, which was a good call. Beat most of the way against the tide which wasn't to bad, but when the tide did eventually turn in my favour it threw up the expected mess of a sea and that was a proper test of endurance.
 
Many thanks for an enjoyable evening. Nice to meet so many and put faces to 'nom de plumes' on here.

Ta Jim and Ian for assisting with my release from berth, went far better than I was envisaging.

Crikey it was lumpy and wet out there. Now got to rebuild the wind genny as I think it has shot its bearings when the 34knot 'breeze' saw to it and it seized up after a lot of clonking noise!!!!

Thanks to the organisers and chef too.

Just a quick thanks to Jim and co for organising, to Jim and Lynn for the hospitality on board Fullcircle.

Also want to record a big thanks to Roger for the chance to answer some of my questions regarding Moody 31's and also to Karen, Patrick and the kids for dinner the night before on board Laurin.

Glad to have met so many new faces.

Also want to thank Bru for promotion and the bruises. :D
