Fitted new fit & forget battery charger, would recommend

Ok! Is there a stand alone gizmo that will do this for me? Pretty sure my Trojan T105s are badly sulphated, so this could be worth a try?

If you are going to do a high voltage de-sulphation charge, e.g., 15.8-16.2v, ideally you need a temperature sensor on the battery to prevent a runaway charge which could result in boiling/explosion. The C-Tek M300 has one and charges at up to 25A.

But a high voltage equalisation will have the current limited ( 1.5A ????) so runaway should not be a problem

Yes it does reconnect when power goes out as it has no mode button as mentioned as it's designed for lead acid batteries only so not for agm or lithium batteries which i believe is what the mode button on some chargers does. The vsr is a dual one so it is connected too the house battery but charges both through the vsr. And vice versa with the alternator charging both too.

You can't compare the CTek m300 with this as it's 5 x the price. As I recommended it's ideal for the more budget/occasional use application for smaller cruisers on occasional power hook up which for me is ideal. I didn't want to pay £230 for a charger that gets used once in a blue moon. My main requirements were price, fit & forget & negative isolation. This charger fits the bill.

Sorry for the silly question, how does the VSR work exactly ?

Do you simply connect this charger to your starter battery and connect the VSR across both and then forget about it ?

Basically Yes but the charger is connected directly to the house battery but the VSR connects both anyways. Fit & forget was one of my requirements. This is the one I'm using. It doesn't say in the description it's dual VSR but it is.
