Fisherman's / Foulgers Gats recent info pls

Re: Fisherman\'s / Foulgers Gats recent info pls

Roger went through Foulgers Gat 3 weeks ago, and was fine.... as usual, a bit shallower at the Northern end, but no problems.... never went below 3.5m below the keel at half tide..... I did hug Inner and Outer Long Sand marks on way through but probably didn't need to....

Also went through Foulgers on Monday, 29th May. Problem locating it as the Inner Long Sand buoy wasn't on station. Much anxiety so reference to GPS/plotter/charts/visible buoyage.......... and yes, we did also switch on two handheld GPS as well (just to be sure /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif)

It was quite a lively day so once we were confident? of the position we proceeded (it's amazing how all that buoyage on the chart suddenly seems very distant/indistinguishable when one mark isn't where you expect it).

Anyway, found Outer Long Sand no probs and proceeded on to Ramsgate, Gravelines, Dunkerque and returned the following Saturday when miraculously the ILS buoy was back on station.

Anybody any info on whether it went walkabout in the poor weather at that time or if it had been deliberately removed for any reason?

Cheers,
Paul.
