Fisherman lost off Kent coast

There's often angling boats tied up to one of the towers, where I think there is a landing platform. The survivor must have had a rough time.

There is a landing platform. There's a group trying to preserve the fort - see HERE.
Occasionally an artist sits out there for a few days doing arty things. Also still the occasional radio broadcast from there, that's why there's a tall aerial on one of the towers.

Hi Cantata its (Mrs) Banagher here not sure if said that I am keeping the boat going or not .....but I am making slow maticulous progress with the hull/keels ect...as I can feel Peter watching me do a proper job. My aim is to eventually get out into Harty.....my heart broken that Holland is.............gone.

That's interesting.

I think the artist is Stephen Turner. He has spent time (camped) in all the local landmarks. The Redsand Towers, the forts on the Medway etc. I think he has a studio in the Historic Dockyard.

A quick comment on this.On the tower being restored access has been made very difficult, locked doors/grills etc to stop casual visitors getting on and to prevent theft of assorted generators/tools left on the fort.
It very difficult to land even from the large ex tug/pilot boat that runs out every now and then and the place is securely locked up.
In order to get on you would need the tools to force entry and be fairly determined about it.
