I'm curious how they are both using the fisher name, is it a bit like the drascombe argument, i.e. he who has the moulds wins?

I was told some years ago and a couple of brokers have confirmed it since then, that the nature of the average new yacht buyer has changed. Increasingly they regard yachts like cars - buy new and replace after 3 or 4 years. They think big and value flashy interior fittings. They dont want something old and second hand so we are now getting to the point where many old grp boats are actually worthless. I have seen a few old grp british boats chopped up and put into skips, not because they werent serviceable but because they were unsaleable.

True. However there are those who find them unsaleable because they are asking too much money for a money-pit.
