Not sure if anyone can help...I've been trying to diagnose an issue on our generator. I recently serviced it, new oil, oil filter and fuel filter and am getting irregular running.

My first thought was air in the fuel system so I bled that but I'm still getting the same issue. Having sprayed plenty of fuel around I took a multimeter to the fuel pump and found that it was only presenting ±6V, is this normal? Do fuel pumps get variable voltages or have I knocked a cable out?

Any thoughts or more experienced hands welcomed...

I had a similar issue. The coolant supply is via a banjo fitting that corrodes up easily and the engine cuts out due to overheating. Remove banjo and clear corrosion and engine runs smoothly.

Thanks for the suggestion! Did you find that even when it was just getting started? I've replaced the fuel pump but seems that it wasn't only that, now a slightly different rhythm.

I'll have a look for the banjo fitting you've mentioned....
