A Westerly Renown - what size is that? I'd prefer sopmething that I can solo, I'm planning on trying to liveaboard somewhere in Gosport... if possible.
I'm looking at having a budget of around... £6-7.5k
Moody 33 - I take it it's 33'? trapper 500...
Well I intend to stay in Gosport, it's where I work. I would go cruising on the yacht though, either over weekends and occasionally during the week/evenings.
The Moody is 33 feet, the Trapper 500 is 28 feet, the Trapper is an excellent boat for what you want, as a couple we lived aboard it. There is plenty room and you can stand with no problem, the MoodyMk 1 is the best size and most efficient use of space we find.
We started with a Hunter 701 thats a 23 footer, then a Folkboat 26 foot, then the Trapper 28 foot, the final boat a Moody 33 Mk1. I have not spent anymore than £7000 to purchase a boat.
You can buy a boat cheap and it doesn't have to be a wreck, remember its a buyers market on 2nd hand boats. So get in there and remember you are in control and there is no sentiment when buying just the best deal for yourself that you can get.
