First pics of new BMW M3.

You really don\'t learn do you.

BMW's are for "medalian men"
Merc for those that like to drive "corsa cars" while theirs are in the garage being repaired.
To drive a Fiat (otherwise known as Ferrriaaarrrii) you need to live where there are no country lanes or speed humps.
Jags are cheap Astons.

The only choice is the Bentley. Looks, performance, class, cracking build quality...... I could go on and on and .....

My daughter is being taken to her school prom in a Red Label. compare that to a limo /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Re: You really don\'t learn do you.

Nah far too classy for a footballer - HRH used a Bentley today to get her to the Church. It's a bit like people who drive an Audi A8, rather than a 7 series. They know but don't need to show it off. Show me a footballer who isnt a posey git.

Live on the West coast of Scotland, and work in Glasgow, so not very handy for a test drive i don't think. The salesman that sold the last 2 cars, is keen to give me a test in anything i want, cause he know that its likely he'll get another order from us.

But i will bear you in mind. thanks.

Re: You really don\'t learn do you.

Open the bonnet of a BMW and see a BMW badge. Close the bonnet and STILL see a BMW badge. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Re: You really don\'t learn do you.

Open the bonnet of a Mercedes and see a bit with a Mercedes badge on it that's rattling about.

Let go of the bonnet of a Mercedes and trap your fingers leaving an imprint of a Mercedes badge on them.

Look on the road behind a Mercedes and see a bit with a Mercedes badge on it that's dropped off.

Pay a Mercedes Main Dealer to open the bonnet of a Mercedes and get a b*****y big bill with a Mercedes logo on it.

Open the bonnet of a Mercedes the following day and still see several bits with Mercedes badges on that are still rattling about.

Still: owning a Mercedes makes boats seem cheap!

The new M3 will definitely use the new V8 4.0 litre unit based on the new M5 V10. It will develop 406 Bhp & cost around £45,000 at today's prices. BMW are also planning a four-door saloon version & Touring model. The newly developed V8 with 48 valves will have an alloy block, each bank of four cylinders will be at a 90 degree angle, electronically actuated throttle valves for each cylinder, third-generation double-Vanos variable valve timing & the latest MS S65 engine management system. With 309ib ft of torque an increase of 40 Ib ft on today's M3, with light-weight aluminum pistions the new engine is said to retain the M3's character, it should be cable of revving to 8250 Rpm. Placed further back in the engine bay as the V8 is shorter than the straight six cylinder engine, giving the car a better centre of gravity & balance for better handling. Standard six-speed manual or seven-speed SMG with drivelogic function & launch control. Also planned is a light-weight version CSL complete with carbon-fibre panels & even more power. Sales are predicted to start mid-2007.

Re: You really don\'t learn do you.

Was reading a VW Touareg forum in US last night. They use the Bentley manuals to stick European features like tiptronic paddles on steering column (not available in US) to afterfit! the Bentley manuals seem to be good, and give all the wiring configs etc for the parts used in VW high end cars like Touaregs and Pheatons.

Re: You really don\'t learn do you.

Waiting for a test drive. Local dealer didn't have any (actually they had one, but it was sold and I wasn't even allowed to sit in it) and most they've had in past were smaller engined. So waiting for them to have a V10 delivered, which is in about 2 weeks
