A small change in this atrocious spring weather has prompted a short but welcome weekend run away! A few boats from Blyth doing a run down to the Tyne and up to the quayside. Bridge lift at noon on Sunday to go home so a leisurely morning on Sunday...... Start of a good season I hope!

Good luck with the weather. My TV news says UK is socked in with snow and no real respite in sight but you would no better.
Easter here is getting near the end of the season. Got a short race on Sunday so have to get in the water tomorrow (27 forecast) and scrape off the gunk. Did it last Friday but it will need it again tomorrow. I seem to have scraped off most of the a/f paint. It will be home in another month. Good luck for the new season olewill

We did the trip from Amble a few times last year - it is great to stay in the city centre and there is a really good Italian at the foot of the hill.
Sandyman would probably not recognise the River now as it is changed a lot in the last 10 years - let alone the 38 years since his Johnny watching trip.
Right now the Tyne has a healthy run of salmon and a thriving otter population altough some of the best sites are around the Big Market / Pitcher and Piano on Saturday evening !
Back in the water on tuesday and cannot wait to get going!!
Enjoy the trip
Martin
