Hi

Well, it won't get any awards for best looking boat on the river but it doesn't leak and the little electric motor was fine, had a couple of hours around Cookham lock an I'm already looking forward to the next trip out. If anything I wanna check the range on the leisure battery.

Both lock keepers checked that the boa was registered which I though was a good thing.

Only issue I had was room.... its only a 9ft boat and sat on the back with the motor handle was a pain, not much room. don't suppose the any reason why I couldn't make the end of the rear a bit more sturdy to take the electric outboard rather than have it in the middle?

Thanks

We need pictures!

Mic looks OK to me you are only going to end up marking here putting her in and out anyway ,Presuming [maybe wrongly] that you are right handed would mean you normally sit to left of tiller and therefore assume you mean to fix/bond another piece of ply as a transom plate on the starbord side of the stern to give you more room to use the tiller?? yep no reason why not but may alter handling of boat.....shouldn`t matter with just an electric though .

Already scratched it on the lock as I don't have side bumpers yet. Am working on that.

Funnily enough I'm a righty but I sit to the right and use left hand for the handle. But yeah its only a 28lb thrust motor so surely can't do it much harm at one side

The boat looks great and also joins the very select club of 'Boats on the Thames smaller than Moxon'. Do I take it you are an angler?

Thanks :)

And yes, will have rod holders and bits put in place ready for mid June :D

Don't tell anyone but there are occasional trout up here

Some clonking great Chub on the upper Thames which can be had from 'un-fishable' swims with a small boat.

Trout fishing is allowed now with artificial fly so I could break out the fly rod if I wanted :D (if I knew where)
Will spend the next month or so finding small boat hidy spots

Mic the Fladden boat rod holders on e bay [if they still sell them] are worth a look as they are the drop in type so can be removed easily ,carefull you will be buying a fish finder next .
Big Chub all the way through the Thames but that year class getting on a bit now ,here is an account of last year when i rescued an unhooking matt off the EA electro survey boat and they let me take some piccys of the fish they had got in 2 sweeps at Goring weir
