There was something muy beneficial, restorative, about idling a couple of hours on Saturday morning sat sipping good black coffee behind the windbreak screens at QAB's 'Waypoint Cafe', gazing out over the sunlit and calm Plymouth Sound....
.... then wandering the pontoons, chatting to owners fitting this and that in the sunshine, and hoisting in a healing dose of well-being.

"Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing – absolutely nothing – half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats."

Couldn't agree more - I had a lovely afternoon on the boat yesterday doing nothing much more than drinking coffee, having a cigarette, enjoying the sun in my face and deciding that none of the jobs were terribly urgent :)

We had a vood day at the boat yesterday and it’s not even floating. I did, I have reason to hope, track down a longstanding electrical fault. A voltage drop between the battery and the distribution panel. Of course it was an earthing issue, the problem was finding it. I found it just before sunset, a badly corroded connection. Just have to put it right, now.

Did you try one of their rather good sausage sandwiches? I have only found one better in Lowestoft.

Spring may have sprung for you softie southerners in QAB but spare a thought for us freezing northerners in Sutton Harbour!

The ice on top of my bucket along the coast just past Rame Head has only been 30 mm each morning.

The night sky has been amazing and once the sun is up quite warm for the time of year.

Must admit its a very pleasant day weather wise and certainly does feel like spring has sprung.
Unfortunately no petrol in the can for the lawnmower so the grass will have to stay riz.

I'm going to visit my boat tomorrow to attempt a few jobs. Was considering an overnight stay but temperatures below freezing overnight has put me off !
Quite a bit of work to do and launch date is the end of the month.

Yeah! Tell me about it...
Had to scrape the ice off t'car windscreen outside the TRSC, Saturday morning! Hence the drive south to the balmy shores of the Cattewater.
