Just increased our budget from 25k to 38k and looking for our first boat to keep at Brighton Marina. Want a cabin with standing room double berth galley and bathroom. Someone suggested a semi displacement boat but not really sure. Been looking at Maxum and also a Princess 37 but could do with some advice. Want to use for day trips and then long weekends

seems pricy
Seems pricey doesn’t mean it is. Cost is relevant to condition and this one looks spotless . It’s just an example anyway. I use mine in the solent and it handles the conditions beautifully. So much so that SWMBO has found her sea legs again.

Two totally different boats.
The Maxum type would be ideal for days out and whizzing around when the weather permits in the locality of Brighton Marina.
Presume Brighton has a Petrol pump. ?
Any small Peche promanade is just a Maxum with a standup cabin but the diesel is big advantage if you actually plan to leave sight of the marina.
The Princess is old and slow but with much more accomodation, folks cannot give these old 1980 tubs away, one in usable condition sold for £17K in our club recently.
Do not pay over the odds. Many owners having a punt to see if there are any takers ,before finally accepting they are only going to acheive half of some unrealistic asking price.
Brighton Marina is in the middle of nowhere and it will take ages over open water to get to anywhere interesting especially in that P37.
50 NM miles to the Solent. 80NM miles to Ramsgate.
Plenty to do onshore but assume you want to go boating ?
This marina would better suit a smaller faster day trip boat.
IMHO. :)
