First boat recommendatioin

Really useful info here:-

Whilst you may not buy this make - it's brilliant for comparing two or three engines / drive options in the same hull - thus just a pure comparison.

For example you can look at fuel burn at 23mph in a 4.3gxi with a single prop - (19l per hr) on a 19 ft bowrider.
Same boat with a 4.3 carb engine uses exactly the same - so useful info.

Similar - the 258 Vista (similar to what you're looking at - 25ft cruiser) - at 24 mph is using 42 lit per hr - so over double that of the small bowrider with the 5.0 mpi engine.

Print out two copies, and you can put them next to each other to compare like with like....

My findings were that the EFi and Carb engines use about the same - but the EFi gets more power from the same engine size - but the MPi engines do use a bit less than the Carb / EFi engines.

Duoprop does tend to save a little fuel and give more "Bite" than single prop - but often a mph or two less at the top end.

I would recommend an outboard boat for a first buy. Inboards and leg drives scared me to death when I started looking myself. I would go down the beneteau antares, jeanneau merry fisher route with an outboard and possibly a bowthruster.

I do agree Outboards are good. However in the size range OP is looking at - most are still inboard - and of course outboards are better only if they are either 4stroke or a good E-tech style direct injection.

That Campion is a nice looking boat though - Canadian made - quite ok quality I believe.

The Campion has nice pictures, but in close look it was not that great, so no deal, but we have found nice Regal 2250 from 2005 from first owner - very nice boat in and out.
We have agreed to pay deposit and we will go from here.
