A first attempt at posting a picture seems a bit of a rite of passage on the forum, bit like the tradition of MPs making their maiden speeches extolling the virtues of their constituencies (could be tricky in some cases, i imagine). So here goes

Where is this? Bit late at night down here but will try to stay awake to provide clues if anybody interested. Usually, i have been uber-impressed (as one of my kids says) because people always seem to figure them out.

Sorry, afraid i might cause irritation by not keeping up with replies. Is there a way of making replies flag up automatically on the forum without having to refresh the page contents each time?

Puerto Williams also boasts the southernmost yacht club in the world

Generally a wonderfully beautiful part of the world and I would dearly love to visit again. I went there to join Skip Novak's Pelagic Australis for a voyage up to the Azores - a great trip and met some wonderful people (and had 6 weeks off work). The mountains shown in the first picture are called something like the teeth of Navarino if i remember correctly. The picture was taken the evening we set off and some hours later we were in the Straits of leMaire (more accurately called the Straits of le Nightmare IMO - I have never been on a sailing boat in so much wind)

[/ QUOTE ]Well, you did pretty well with that one. When's the next one? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Is Loch Linhe the loch next to Fort William? I was visiting the hospital there a few weeks ago. I had a lovely day and the drive back down to the Lake District was spectacular, esp the road to Glenochry (?spelling) but I don't suppose you would need pictures of the area when you can see it for real all the time.

That's the one! Driving down the loch, you probably crossed the Ballachulish bridge at the entrance to Loch Leven. My summer mooring at Loch Linnhe is a few miles south of there, on the coastal road to Oban.

Did you travel through Glen Coe to Glen Orchy? Glen Coe is pretty spectacular - used to climb there - here's a cold September day in the 80s;
