First altercation with an angler

Not sure if the poster is familiar with the Thames as appears to be based elsewhere.
It is very easy the assume that the area you boat in reflects conditions elsewhere.
Ferrinstance regards the fishing saga, perhaps on a wide river, you would have to go some distance out of your way to transit a fishermans swim, on the Thames and especially the Medway, a decent long jumper could get from one side of the river to t,other without much effort !
Must confess when fishing always convinced that the biggest/only fish were always under the far bank, cast accordingly.
The impending arrival of any boat was was of course a PITA. :)

Pain in the arse in a different way today.

I wanted to moore up on the opposite bank to Hampton Court, there's some nice 'beeches' and thought the children could paddle/swim.

Every suitable bit of bank had a sodding fisherman sat there.

Then I lost my steering, but that's another story and probably not fisherman's fault.

- he has as much right to be there as you.
No he doesn't.
Anglers are a nuisance to boats .
Anglers are obliged to remove their equipment when a boat approaches. I generally slow down for them to avoid conflict.
