Fire extinguishers Lidl 18 Aug

his report said that the extinguishers must be replaced with in-date models i.e. have visible expiry dates on them.

Do the dated ones have pressure gauges? I'm sure I read somewhere that those were the two alternatives - either provide a gauge so the user can see if/when the gas has escaped, or save tuppence on the gauge, calculate a date by which 99.99% of extinguishers should still have gas in them, and tell the user to chuck it after that date.

Personally I prefer the former approach.

Mine are on the boat.

I will check them out, but they are pretty similar to the ANAF ones shown and they are indeed stamped, and short dated. I have never seen extinguishers sold without a date stamp, tho I admit they may exist.

PS
For the sake of 12 quid I could't be rrrrrsed to take them back at the time.

Stand easy gentlemen, I was wrong.

There is a steering wheel logo on the the unit (Marine Equipment Directive?) with the figures under: - 2911. I took this to mean it would time expire on the 29th week of 2011, in fact it seems to be a type or reg number.
The unit is dated as made is 2010, another good buy form Lidl.

Based on this post, I bought four of 'em - two for the garage/workshop, one for the kitchen and one as a 2nd unit for the boat. They look to be good quality units.
