Fins on outboard?

Why on earth would you want to stop being able to do that? :D

I'm not an expert on Doelfins but I believe they can do "interesting" things to the handling and stability characteristics of boats under some circumstances, so make sure you're not stepping out of the frying pan into the fire.

The guy who runs the Boatmad Forum is a Phantom owner (though a bigger one than yours) and enthusiast and knows an awful lot about them. He also knows the guy (Steve Baker, I think) who originally built them. There are also several other Phantom owners on his Forum, so it might be worth dipping your toes in there if you have detailed questions. It's a slightly idiosyncratic place, but aren't all fora? :)

PS: From the look of the video, he's got the o/b well trimmed out and is leaning heavily on the Loud pedal as he gets on to the plane. Reducing both these factors should go a long way towards alleviating the "uphill effect" :)

Are there? Really? Who are they, and what have I got to do to blag a ride?

Often thought about adding one of these to the toybox, but always dismissed it, as they are a bit toooooo silly.

Aren't they?
