Finding a hobbit in a crowded airport.

I am not into this Tolkien stuff (gave up on Chapter 2 of the first book).

A certain forumite has agreed to crew for me from La Coruna to Vannes next week.

Do all hobbits look the same? If so, I'll have difficulty meeting up with the right one.

Or should I just look for the ugly blighter shown on his avatar?

Do hobbits smell or have any unique hobbit habits?

Finally, when we get to passport control at the other end, will they think he is called Bilbao Baggins?

When you find him just put him in the stern locker ... they're used to small spaces....

He will be quite at home if your boat has round portholes.

As regards the books, Tolkein wrote them initially for his son, who was a small boy when he started, and a man serving in the forces during WW2 when he finished. The early part of the first book can be hard going for adults but it is worth persevering, as it becomes a great (and very well written) story.

as long as you don't mind it taking 4 chapters to describe the blade of grass that he just happened to pass ... I couldn't grasp it at all ... and I like reading odd books!
