...at the weekend (after two abortive attempts earlier in the year).
The entrance was a bit lumpy on Saturday (midday). I had all my notes, course to steer, etc, - then simply followed the fleet in (as well as normal traffic, there were 20 boats from our club going to Woodbridge) /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
Isn't Woodbridge lovely? We've been by road, but arriving by water, in glorious sunshine, was so much better. As marinas go, we thought Tide Mill was interesting - the U-shape of it means that you don't have the feeling of being totally surrounded by boats, and the view over the river from our boat (we were on the south arm) was splendid. Decent pint & nosh at the Anchor on the Quayside, too.
Not enough wind for the journey back on Sunday, but at least the sun was shining.
We gave Charlie (the autohelm) his first real workout, whilst I went below and practiced with the radar. Got back to Shotley at 1740, to join a queue of 12 boats for the lock... .
Great weekend. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
(dunno what happened to my first attempt at this post)
