After finally selling our 14.20m Motor Trawler yacht in Spain,we have last friday purchased the most fantastic sailing yacht. ( to me ) .
She is a Beneteau 44cc from 1996. This was a dream boat, but financially unavailable, but after finding one at very right money,we have done the deed!
Feel so excited about spending time on here whilst on the hard even, learning her bits and bobs.
Med next year i think, with help, after some more training.

She is the perfect yacht for us.Roomy,85hp Yanmar and loads off extras.A little TLC and we will enjoy her over the next many years.

Something beautiful about a sailing yacht....

You mean FROM the dark side?

The Dark Side is a state of mind, not a state of ownership. Only when you have achieved the elevated Scuttlebutt level of disdain and contempt for motor boaters are you truly free from Dark forces. I am sure all forumites welcome you and will be willing to provide the necessary coaching in how to despise power boats.

And after that they'll advise you on what new engine to fit, how to get the most out of your alternator, and suppliers of fridges, microwave ovens bow thrusters and electric windlasses. Just don't ask them what proportion of their "sailing" they do with the engine off ...

Me? Seagull Silver Century. Technically that's more a kedge anchor than it is an auxiliary engine.

Congratulations and that is a very nice boat! As a recent returner to sailing on a 44ft Bene I have to say it is great!

Enjoy!
