I think the meal is full, but it looks like there is plenty going on as well as the meal. There are rib rides and potentially gig rowing organised, plus a local celebrity will be there

G will keep you fit. Especially when all the trolleys are taken :D

E Not so much. I'd buddy up to Big WOW and bring my putter along. :D Those water traps of his!!

Humour aside it would be great to meet up sometime. Either on the water or in The Mulberry over a pint? You aren't perchance the same Dan from WSF that I was chatting to last year re fishing boat vs cruiser are you. If so, must meetup

Didn't know I had "water traps" are they something technical? :encouragement:

I don't think I'm that Dan, don't know what WSF is though! Me and my lad will probably be down Saturday afternoon, not sure if were going out though.

We were out last Saturday, had a great trip down to pilots and mermaid cove. We even stopped at PD to pick up Kawasaki for a quick run over Caernarfon bar. He actually said to me, "didn't expect you get here so fast." Probably the greatest compliment I have ever received! Had an interesting trip back through the swellies two hours after slack water too.

If we do venture out, we will keep an eye out for you.

Dan

If you let me know your boat name or berth number I'll pop over and introduce myself. Will you be overnighting? The Mulberry has a great Unicorn. Well worth a pint. I doubt I'll be going far on Saturday. I want to go up river and practice close quater manoeuvres before my first bunker. Twin engine handling is new to me and very different from my cuddy.

I'm on g19, I'll probably only be there for the afternoon. Can't stay over as we have commitments on Sunday. Be good to meet you, going to give seastoke a shout too. The tides will be ripping on Saturday, have fun!

Thanks. I normally launch my dingy from beacons. I don't keep it onsite. This may change to the quay - NWCC but its actually easier to just trailer it down. I'm local so it's no heartache. As for picking up the strop I will run a line from the bow cleat through the pulpit bow rollers back to the stern cleat. The pickup bouy will have a caribino sp? on. So I will come abeam the pickup, snap it to the line and drift back on the tide. It's a simple matter then to walk over to the pulpit and pull the strop through to the stanchion.... so I hope. Failing that the wife will need to learn a bit of agility.

it was great to see u out on the water today she looked great took some photos of u tryin get them on the lap top

Damn, sorry to miss you again! I popped over on Saturday and chatted with Big WOW, you weren't around and rugby was on so didn't hang about. That Big WOW is a cracker of a boat. Very impressed. Met Dan on the water and when going in to bunker. Got myself tied up in a knot trying to leave the marina just as a yacht and Mobo came in through the gates abeam of each other. What's the ettiquette here? I radio in to the marina asking permission to leave and enter. Heard nothing from these chaps. Found myself broadside in the lift out and had to do a 20 point turn to get out. My nerves were shot by then, still got to get used to a "bigger than 20 foot cuddy" with twin drives. Easier my ass. The HM has also changed my berth from a swing to a pontoon in the middle of the quays. Trying to get her back in against the tidal rip shot what was left of my nerves. By the time I had steadied them with a few drinks I was in no condition to do anything but siesta.

BTW. Going to your berth I was challenged 3 times while on D. I must have looked mighty suspicious walking up looking at all the boats to read their names. It'd be handier if D had marker numbers clearly painted on the pontoon, but at least neighbourhood security is good.

Bruce saw u on ur boat so waited on the bridge for an hour with the camera but u never moved

I was doing maintenance in the morning and giving her a good scrubdown as the tides were against me going out. My boy knocked my 75 piece socket set into the engine bay bilges. Damn, not much space down there when trying to pick up 75 socket heads. Took me forever with all manner of bent wire contraptions to fish them all out. Non it turns out are magnetic enough to be picked up by a magnetic grabber.

Photo's from Sunday
