finally bought the boat

Well, I tracked down the owner of that catamaran, met him in st martin and bought it from him direct. And it is all very whizz, with motorboaty number of engines plus a mast and sail combo for saving money on the diesel.

The cats one hands down on regatta day on hols but there was one constantly tacking or gybing between the narrow passages where sopers hole is not to sure what he was up to
Ive heard they are hard to tack.
Whats the average cruising speed ?

well, perhaps at bvi sometime tho more likely be further south at xmas perhaps barbados or st lucia.

edit: previous owner reckned he cd bank on averaging 8-9 knots

Forget St Lucia for Christmas - Barbados is much nicer! You can then have a nice overnight downhill sail to Bequia for New Year, which is the happening Bogs Dollox place to be then.
