After a very long thread on replacing Cav filter assemblies here is a slightly different question.

If I locate my new filter assembly on longer lines near the front of the engine bay, does its height (above the fuel tank) or the engine matter.

I could fit it at more or less the same height as existing one but if it was higher it would be easier still (see the photo)

Any comments or guidance on locating the new filter assembly in relation to the tank and engine?

Higher should be OK. Mine is much higher in relation to the engine than your existing level. The original was lower and much further away behind the engine on the other side. The feed runs low down and through the shut off valve then up to the filter. Positioned there for easy access.
